key attributes for a successful Lean Solutions facilitator
include analytical ability, communication skills, patience,
courtesy, and a willingness to travel. There are no
formal academic qualifications required, although this
would be beneficial. Excellent knowledge of any of the
following topics would also be a bonus:
- Six Sigma
- Accounting
- Marketing
- Finance
- Product Development
- Project Management
- Performance Measurements
- Change Management
There are currently three positions available for someone
with the above qualifications:
The Lean Project Engineer is responsible for leading
Lean implementations and must be a strong leader,
have strong analytical abilities and be willing to
get their hands dirty. Although they may occasionally
be asked to facilitate a workshop, the Lean Project
Engineer's primary responsibility will be to assist
Lean Facilitators and Senior Lean Facilitators for
large classes and to lead small implementation activities
such as the creation of a Single Piece Flow
cell, or the implementation of Quick Changeover
at a single process. Depending on their areas of expertise,
Lean Project Engineers may be tasked with managing
a small project for a client company, or attached
to a client company for an extended period to assist
with the implementation of multiple Lean activities.
The Lean Facilitator is responsible for facilitating
workshops for clients and leading Lean implementations.
Lean Facilitators must have strong facilitation and
communication skills as well as strong leadership
and analytical abilities. Lean Facilitators will frequently
be asked to conduct follow-up sessions with organizations
employing a Lean Project Engineer. Depending on their
areas of expertise, Lean Facilitators may be tasked
with managing a large project for a client company,
or attached to a client company for an extended period
to mentor them as they transform their value streams.
The Senior Lean Facilitator is responsible for all
interactions with a client company. This includes
facilitating workshops and leading Lean implementations,
as well as coordinating Lean Facilitators and Lean
Project Leader tasks within that company. Senior Lean
Facilitators must have strong organizational, facilitation
and communication skills as well as strong leadership.
Senior Lean Facilitators must be experts on a wide
variety of Lean topics so that they can satisfy almost
all of a client's requirements. Senior Lean Facilitators
may be attached to a client company to lead a large
project or to mentor them during their Lean transformation.

existing client base will be considered for employment
