Mixed
Model
Value Streams:
Applying
Lean to High Mix, Low Volume Environments
Mixed
Model Value Streams is
a two-day intermediate level workshop
that is targeted at organizations that
have high variety product families. If
your organization is struggling to
create a future state value stream
map due to the complexity of your products,
then this workshop will provide you
with the knowledge you need.
This
workshop teaches participants how to reduce product
variation through the use of a product family matrix. Participants
will learn to balance the work for products with
widely varying process times as well as how to
balance the product mix to allow for flow. Participants
will learn to calculate interval and pitch in a
mixed model environment, both of which are powerful
tools for slashing product lead times.
Like
most Lean
Solutions workshops, Mixed
Model Value Streams combines
classroom theory with practical exercises and
case study simulations to reinforce the training. However,
unlike most of our Lean Solutions, the theories
presented during the workshop will not be directly
applied to one of your value streams during
the course.
